Meet Gamma Lambda

The Gamma Lambda chapter of Phi Mu at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a sisterhood grounded in the values of love, honor, and truth. Guided by these principles, we strive to become the best versions of ourselves while uplifting those around us. As engaged members of the Carolina community, we are committed to leadership, service, and meaningful campus involvement that creates lasting impact. Our sisterhood is built on genuine connections and relationships that extend far beyond our college years and support us through every season of life. Together, we are proud to leave behind a legacy of unity, purpose, and service that reflects the strength and spirit of Phi Mu.

A Message from Our President

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! My name is Ansley Hayes, and I am honored to serve as the 2026 Chapter President.

When I look back at these past three years at Carolina, I see the love, friendship, and compassion that Phi Mu has instilled in me. My college experience truly would not have been the same without the wonderful women in our chapter. Being a member of Phi Mu has meant the world to me, and I hope you will find the same sense of belonging during your time here.

The women of Gamma Lambda have taught me what it truly means to show up for others, to offer love, support, and understanding, even on the hardest days. They have stood by me through my lowest moments and celebrated alongside me in my happiest ones. Knowing that I can count on each and every one of these women without hesitation is something I will forever be grateful for.

Phi Mu has brought me my closest friends. From the moment I joined, I instantly gained women who would stand by me and guide me through my college years and beyond. Without Phi Mu, I don’t know if I would have found friendships that make me feel so genuinely valued and seen. In Phi Mu, you are not just part of a sisterhood - you are known, supported, and loved for exactly who you are.

From the moment I stepped inside Phi Mu, I never felt the need to change myself or hide parts of who I am in order to belong. Phi Mu has been a home for me and so many others, no matter your story or journey to Carolina. I believe that this is what truly makes Phi Mu special: Phi Mu is known for the love and support our members have for each other, and I am so proud to represent these women.
